Epiphany II

Also known as: Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

In the Liturgical calendar, this is typically the Sunday following the Sunday observed as The Baptism of the Lord. However, if The Baptism of the Lord is transferred to the Monday after Epiphany (ie whenever Epiphany itself is on either Jan 7th or 8th), then Epiphany II is observed on the Sunday immediately following Epiphany but is still considered the "Second" Sunday after Epiphany.

The liturgical color is Green.

The setting of the mass is Willan.

The Proper of the mass is at DWM pg. 204.

The Preface is the Preface of the Epiphany (DWM 586)

The Last Gospel is said at the end of all masses (until Feb 2nd). The acolyte should stand up the framed copy of the Last Gospel, at the North end of the altar, during the dismissal. The celebrant reads the Last Gospel while the acolyte and deacon stand at the ends of the altar facing inward.. All servers stand for the Last Gospel, genuflecting at "and the Word was made Flesh"
