Also known as: Intercession (Form III)

Form III of the Prayers of the People is the form typically used at Sunday masses, except during Advent and Lent, when Form I is used.

This is typically said or sung by the Deacon.

The Priest sings or says:

With all our heart and with all our minds, let us pray to the Lord saying "Lord have mercy" (or "Kyrie eleison").

The deacon or reader continues:

FOR the peace for the world, for the welfare of the holy Church of God, and for the salvation of our souls, let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

FOR Francis, our Pope, Steven, our Bishop, Daniel the Archbishop of Galveston-Houston and for all bishops, priests, and deacons, and all God's holy people, let us pray to the Lord

Lord, have mercy.

FOR the poor and the oppressed, for the unemployed and the destitute, for prisoners and captives, and for all who remember and care for them, let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

FOR the faithful + departed of this parish, [for N., for whom we offer this mass] and for all who have departed this life in the hope of the resurrection, let us pray to the Lord.

THAT we may end our lives in faith and hope, without suffering and without reproach, let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

IN the communion of the blessed ever-virgin (bow) Mary, the Mother of God, Our Lady of Walsingham, of Joseph her spouse; of Blessed Michael the Archangel; of Blessed John Baptist; of the holy apostles Peter and Paul; of Saints Thomas Becket, John Fisher, Thomas More, Elizabeth Ann Seton, and Blessed Miguel Pro, whose relics are here, and of all the Saints; let us commend ourselves, and one another, and all our lives, to Christ our God.

To thee, O Lord, our God.

The celebrant concludes with the following doxology or a collect selected from the missal (APPENDIX 5, pg 1056).

FOR thine is the majesty, O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, now and for ever. Amen.
