The first part of the Order of Mass, after the Entrance Procession and before the Liturgy of the Word.

This typically includes:

• Introit

• Salutation

• Collect for Purity

• Summary of the Law

• Kyrie

• Gloria in Exclesis Deo

• Collect of the Day

Throughout the Introductory Rites, the servers are standing at their places in the chancel pews.

The acolyte moves with the other sacred ministers up to the altar during the Introit and again at the Kyrie.
