In the Order of Mass, after the Penitential Rite, when the sacred ministers face the people at the chancel steps and make announcements and the celebrant gives birthday and anniversary blessings.

All altar servers should be seated in the choir stalls during the Announcements and Blessings.

If a server is receiving one of the blessings, he should quickly rise and go around the sacred ministers to receive the blessing from in front of the celebrant.

After the blessings, the celebrant begins the Offertory with the Offertory Sentence, at which point all of the servers rise together and move to their places at the foot of the altar.
