There is no celebration of the Eucharist on Holy Saturday. Today, the parish offers a celebration of the Liturgy of the Word with the Ancient Homily on the Lord’s Descent into Hell, commonly referred to as the Harrowing of Hell.

Priest or Deacon vests in cassock and surplice or alb with violet stole. A violet cope may also be worn.

In the afternoon and evening, time is given to preparing for the Easter Vigil.
