Altar servers refers to members of the laity who assist the sacred ministers in the chancel at mass in following roles:

• MC - Supervises the mass and the other servers

• Thurifer - Carries the thurible

• Crucifer - Carries the processional cross, rings the bell and handles the cruets

• Torch bearer - Carry the processional candles and the torches

• Boat boy - Carries the incense boat

• Mitre bearer - Holds the Bishop's mitre, or acts as an extra server

• Crozier bearer - Holds the Bishop's crozier, or acts as an extra server
