Advent II is the second Sunday in the liturgical calendar as well as the second in the season of Advent.

The liturgical color is violet (or "purple").

Two candles are lit in the Advent wreath in the chancel.  These are, the violet candle directly opposite the rose candle, and the next violet candle moving counter clockwise.

The celebrant, rather than the deacon, reads the Prayers of the People using Form I (See DWM 1048).
